You are welcome to my home, a cosy 2-floors villa overlooking Prague castle and the magic historic centre of Prague. I am delighted to cook for you (and if you wish to prepare together) a selection of tasty Italian and Mediterranean dishes and the best Bohemian cheese and ham delicacies, paired with premium Italian wines or beers from local mini-breweries. Vegetarian recipes are available upon request.
Dinner will be served in our cosy lounge-kitchen or, in the summer season and if you prefer, outdoors in our private courtyard with candlelight.
Every Thursday, I also organise Cook & Meet cooking classes and social events (www.cook-meet.com), a creative and friendly fully-equipped cooking workshop in which we prepare together a complete menu with different weekly themes like Italian regional dishes, vegan and gluten-free events, premium wine tasting, Mediterranean meze delicacies, and special menu every time I come back from an overseas travel bringing back fresh ingredients and new recipes.
Mediterranean cuisine is renowned for the richness of ingredients, colours and taste: we will enjoy a selection of Italian starters like sundried tomatoes, marinated artichokes, olive pate´ which I bring directly from Italy or prepare on the spot, and a tasting of typical Bohemian delicacies like picked brie-style cheese, sausages and ham.
MENU 1) : ITALIAN DELICACIES
Your choice of a classic Italian main course prepared with first class ingredients:
a) risotto with seasonal fresh vegetables (artichokes, asparagi, mushroom, according to the season) with Parmigiano Reggiano
b) home-made tagliatelle (we can also prepare them together if you want!) with gourmet dressing of your choice made on the spot
MENU 2) : TYPICAL BOHEMIAN CUISINE
Instead of classic Italian dishes, you can enjoy a full-scale menu with the most traditional Bohemian delicacies
• Bohemian ham with horseradish cream
• Pickled brie with gherkins
• Roast duck with home-made stuffing muffins and red cabbage
• Paired with premium beers from local monastic breweries and fruit brandies
The choice of typical Italian home-made dessert:
a) panna cotta with berries coulis and amaretti
b) chocolate truffles with rum (it is a great fun to prepare them together, if you wish! )
c) tiramisu´, available for a group of at least 4 people
d) Classic Czech pastries (the so-called "wreath and coffin" with typical Czech humour)
Guests will be welcome with a crisp Prosecco wine or a refreshing Spritz aperitif.
I personally import premium Italian wines directly from the wine cellars: we will enjoy 1 bottle of premium red or white wine of choice every 3 participants. Alcohol-free drinks are also available.
Such a rich meal deserves a proper topping, with a selection of spirits like Limoncello, Grappa and herbal liqueurs.
